This luscious meethi sevaiyan is a simple dessert when you’re short on time. It is made with roasted vermicelli noodles cooked in ghee with sugar and cardamom and topped off with crunchy nuts.
In a bowl, add sugar and 1 cup of water mix well to dissolve the sugar.
In a pot over low heat, add ghee. Once melted, add green cardamom powder and the vermicelli. You can add the vermecili whole, or break it into smaller pieces.
Cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes till roasted.
Once roasted, add the sugar, water, and raisins and mix well and cover and simmer.
After 7-10 minutes, check to see if vermicelli is soft.
Check if you need to add sugar and/or water at this stage. Adjust, and cover. Simmer on low heat until water is absorbed.
Garnish with sliced almonds.
