Ingredients & Notes

  • Fresh vegetables – cucumber, tomatoes, onions, chilli – Diced vegetables that are all the same size are best for this recipe.
  • Green Chilis and Cilantro – add a lot of freshness to this simple salad.
  • Lemon juice – fresh or bottled lemon juice both work for this recipe.

How to make Kachumber Salad

Chop all your vegetables – cucumbers, onion, tomatoes and green chilli.

In a bowl add the diced onion, cucumber, tomatoes and green chilli (if using).

Add in the salt and lemon juice. Mix well. Then add in cilantro.

Mix the salad until everything is fully incorporated.

Serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Tips and Serving Suggestions

  • Kachumbar salad should be served within a day so the vegetables stay crunchy.
  • Adjust the amount of salt and chili to your preference.
  • Fresh lemon juice is ideal for this recipe, as the flavor really comes through in this simple salad.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cucumber, medium diced
  • 1 Tomato, large diced
  • 1 Onion, medium diced
  • 1 tablespoon Cilantro chopped
  • 2-4 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1-2 Green chillis chopped (optional – adjust to preferred spice level)
