This ground beef cutlet recipe is a simple variation of a kabab, made with ground beef and only a few simple spices for a tasty appetizer or for a simple sandwich!
Beef cutlets are like kababs, or maybe they’re more burgers (though the purists would disagree). Whatever you classify them to be, these are highly addictive and delicious!
Ground Beef Cutlet Recipe
These ground beef cutlets are really simple. They don’t require a ton of prep work or know-how. They are flexible. add whatever spices you like, or just keep them plain.
Step #1: Ground beef mixture
The ground beef mixture is nothing fancy – only a few ingredients:
- ground beef – any amount of fat will work for this recipe since the bread does most of the binding
- soaked slice of bread – to help bind these beef cutlets
- red chili powder – to taste, or eliminate if you don’t want any heat
- ground cumin
- garam masala
- salt
- black pepper – freshly ground if you can!
It’s also super customizable – if don’t have cumin or garam masala, omit them or add more black pepper. This is just the combination that we have come to love!
These cutlets are super moist and hold their shape well because of the soaked bread.
Mom’s pro-tip: start with one slice of soaked bread. If the mixture feels tacky, another half or whole slice!
Once the mixture comes together, let it all rest for at least 30 minutes.
Step #2: Coat them in breadcrumb & egg
Once the mixture has had time to rest, divide it into 6-8 cutlets.
Roll each cutlet it in breadcrumbs and egg mixture.
Step #3: Fry & Serve
Fry them till they’re nice and golden from the egg mixture, and serve with whatever sauces you have on hand!
It’s best to use a heavy bottom pan or a cast iron pan to make these!
