Enjoy this classic Doodh Patti chai or Karak chai when you need a comforting yet strong cup of black tea!
There are as many preferences for chai as there are households. Everyone has their preferences, the type of tea you use, the type of milk, spices, and even sweeteners.
This recipe is how we love making our special cup of chai.
This Doodh Patti Chai doesn’t take long to make. But it is usually reserved for days where we want to add just a little bit of added comfort.
It is a strong tea (hence Karak Chai), flavored with a bit of cardamom and as much sugar and milk and you prefer!
If you’re looking for a snack to enjoy with your chai, here are some of our favorites:
- Shakarpara: Bite-sized Sugar Cookies (With Air-Fryer Option)
- Thepla: Wheat Flour & Brown Sugar Cookies (with Air Fryer Option)
- Chicken Puffs: Pakistani Style Chicken Patties
Ingredients
- Milk – we usually use whole milk for this chai recipe, you can use your favorite, such skim, or 2% milk. It will affect the creaminess and strength of the tea.
- Green Cardamom – adds a floral taste that perfectly complements the black tea. We recommend using the whole pods, but you can also use cardamom powder
- Black Tea – for 3 cups of tea, we recommend using 4 tea bags or 3-4 teaspoons of loose leaf tea. You can adjust this for your preference.
- Sugar & Sweetened condensed Milk – we use these to sweeten and add a touch of creaminess to the karak chai.
