Adrak Chai Ingredients
- Ginger – fresh ginger really adds the perfect spice and warmth to this tea
- Milk – we usually use whole milk for this chai recipe, you can use your favorite, such skim, or 2% milk. It will affect the creaminess and strength of the tea.
- Black Tea – for 3 cups of tea, we recommend using 4 tea bags or 3-4 teaspoons of loose leaf tea. You can adjust this for your preference.
- Sugar – just a touch of sweetness goes well with the ginger tea. You can skip it or use honey or condensed milk instead!
How to make Ginger Tea with Milk
In a pot, add 3/4 cup water with chopped ginger. Cook for 3-5 minutes on low heat to infuse the ginger into the water.
Next, add in milk and let it cook, just until it starts to boil. Add the sugar and tea bags.
Cook on low to medium heat for 3-5 minutes, or longer, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.
Pour into the cups.
Serve hot with extra sugar on the side if needed and your favorite teatime snacks.
Tips and serving suggestions
- Use good-quality black tea or black tea that you enjoy. That will greatly enhance the taste of your chai.
- Make this chai in a pot that is bigger, because the chai does need space to boil.
- Experiment with the types of milk to use, 2% milk, whole milk, and even non-dairy milks will all give a slightly different taste.
- We recommend using fresh ginger for the best adrak chai.
