- Chicken – we usually use boiled chicken breasts for this recipe. You can also use a rotisserie chicken and shred it to make this a quicker recipe!
- Spread – Cream cheese, mayonnaise and butter – make the base of this chicken spread.
- Celery – you can omit the celery, but it adds a crunchy texture to the chicken that works well here.
- Salt and Pepper – the spread is only flavored salt and pepper, making it pleasing to adults and kids alike!
- Bread – we usually use white bread for this recipe, making it a crowd favorite! But you can use any other bread, or even burger buns, hot dog buns or tortillas for this.
How to make Chicken Spread Sandwiches?
Add 3-4 cups of water, salt, and chicken breasts in a medium-sized pot.
Let the water come to a boil, then let the chicken cook on medium-high heat. Boil the chicken until fully cooked. Remove the chicken breasts and let them cool.
Once the chicken is at room temperature, shred the chicken either by hand or using a food processor.
Add the cream cheese, mayonnaise, and black pepper to a medium-sized bowl and mix well until it forms a paste.
Add in the chopped celery and chicken and mix well.
Generously spread the chicken paste onto your favorite bread and serve.
